About Us

We are a family-run nursery with almost 20 years of experience in early years under our belts. We have built up a strong team of experienced and highly trained staff who are just as passionate as we are in giving the children the care, attention, and love that they would receive at home, in a warm and nurturing environment.

Our nursery has been designed to the highest standards to create a bright, stimulating, and homely environment in which your child will be safely cared for.

We realise that choosing a nursery is a difficult decision for you as a parent and how important it is that you feel comfortable with leaving your child in someone else’s care. That is why it is important to us that we build a relationship with you and your little one and work with you to get to know you and your child to make that transition from home to Nursery as easy as possible.

From 3 Months

Babies

We work closely with families to ensure routines from home are followed and provide lots of love, cuddles and attention to make the transition from home to nursery as easy as possible. Our baby room has a lovely homely feel with cosy corners, floor toys and treasure baskets which provide the babies with opportunity and freedom to explore.

We go out regularly for walks in the buggies and spend time on our decked area in the garden. We also have a sleep room which provides the babies with a relaxing environment to sleep.

Up to 3 Years

Toddlers

Our toddlers can explore a range of fun activities and resources which are designed to develop language skills, build confidence and encourage social interactions including messy play, stories and lots of singing and dancing. There are also daily opportunities to experience the outdoor environment through garden play and walks in the local area.

Activities are planned around each child’s individual needs and children are encouraged to make choices and decisions about what toys and activities they have throughout the day to encourage independence.

There are quiet areas for the children to rest and nap throughout the day.

Up to 5 Years

Pre-school

This room has a busy atmosphere where the children actively engage in rich and meaningful learning experiences that encourage them to become more independent.

We are dedicated to maintaining an interesting and stimulating environment that encourages the children to adopt an enthusiastic approach to learning.

We ensure planning is flexible and incorporate children’s ideas and contributions to meet their personal needs, interests and capabilities. Our skilled team encourage the children to make choices, begin to realise and assess risk and evaluate their own learning. We have access to the garden from this room and the children benefit from free flow outdoor play throughout the day as well as outings around the village.

Location

Our Nursery is located in the quiet residential area of Blackdog which is conveniently located just off of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) and less than 1 mile from Bridge of Don. There is a large securely enclosed garden area where the children enjoy fresh air and exercise and we also take advantage of the local park, beach and woodland area which is close by.

We have built up a strong team of experienced and highly trained practitioners who are just as passionate as we are in giving the children the care, attention, and love that they would receive at home, in a warm and nurturing environment.

Pre-employment checks are carried out on all of our team members before employment commences in line with Scottish Government requirements including; Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) checks.
